Montview Kindergarten offers a unique alternative:

At Montview, you will find:

  • Small class sizes
  • Two teachers and a helping parent in every classroom
  • A shorter school day
  • Hands-on, experiential learning that utilizes the way young children learn best.

Through the work of our Kindergarten Task Force, our 2016 Kindergarten survey, and consultation with staff, parents, the Parent Committee, and the Governing Commission, it is clear to us that Montview’s Kindergarten offers the community a school choice that is not readily available anywhere else.

Why choose Montview Kindergarten? Here’s what alumni families are saying:

“We chose Montview because we wanted to give our child the gift of a magical kindergarten experience. We know that Montview offers children something special and unique in the way that authentic learning happens through meaningful play, exploration of feelings, and the importance of imagination. Montview is a place that recognizes the true growth of a child at this age and offers a safe place where their hearts and minds are cared for and nurtured in the best of ways.” – Andrea & Cary Hickerson
“We loved the freedom to learn through exploration! There is no substitute for play and Montview provides such a fun environment to do so. We also loved the social emotional component of the program. My kids learned lessons they’ll carry with them the rest of their lives.” – Megan Harrison
“In looking at schools for my daughter, I wanted a Kindergarten that was age appropriate and met the needs of early learners. The idea of her sitting in a desk for 7 hours a day didn’t appeal to me. I loved that Montview had plenty of time for movement and play, and taught the basic skills in an age appropriate, hands-on manner. I loved that the academic side was interwoven into the play and exploration of the day. Kids wrote about their creations, practiced math during their play and read books that appealed to them. I also appreciated the way that Montview helped my daughter establish the rhythm and routine of school rather than forcing it on her from day one.” – Lisa Davis
